Clarisonic Diary: Week 1

So as promised from the last post, I'd do a weekly update on the Clarisonic Mia 2.

I use it twice daily, sometimes once daily when my skin feels a little dehydrated rather than oily. It has a set timer which is 60 seconds (20 seconds for the forehead, 20 seconds for nose and chin and 10 seconds each on the cheeks), however I usually use it for more than 60 seconds because I personally feel 60 seconds are not enough and I use it for my neck area too. Usually it takes me around 90 seconds. But that's just my personal preference.

My face wash is Lush Fresh Farmacy and Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleasing Gel (I use it alternatively, but most times I use the Lush Fresh Farmacy). So the question is, how do I use it with Lush soap (because all if not most of Lush cleansers are in the form of soap, and before this I've been searching for YouTube videos that teaches one to use Lush soap with the Clarisonic but couldn't find any, so I had to try different methods.

My first method: wet my face and rub the soap on my palms till it's foamy then rub it on my face and use the Clarisonic to gently brush my face in circular motion but this method didn't work too well for me because the soap dries up and by the time I reach an area it isn't foamy anymore and it's just as if I'm washing my face with water.

My second method: Exactly as above but this time, I use the brush head to scoop whatever lather that's left on my palm and then start brushing my face with the Clarisonic in circular motion - didn't work too well either as there weren't enough foam.

Finally, I found one method that works for me till today - cut the soap into tiny cubes and wet it so it's easily melted when it is pressed on brush head using my fingertips and use another small tiny cube to rub it between my palm to form foam and rub it thoroughly all over my face so it's also foamy and then take the brush and gently brush it around my face and neck (but that's just my personal preference) area in circular motion.

I know this post is on Clarisonic but let me mention a bit about Lush Fresh Farmacy. If you're suffering from acne and breakouts like I do and you have Lush store in your country, I'd recommend using Fresh Farmacy, it's not a miracle but it helps keep my acne at bay. I really do love it and have been using it for months now and I can see that I don't breakout as much as I do in the past. Before this I tend to get five or more pimples in a month, especially during "that" time of the month but now at most three pimples and not more than that. So yes, I do recommend it to those who suffers from acne but then again, not all skin types are the same, so it may work for me but doesn't necessary mean that it will work for you. However, if you're still searching for that "one" facial cleanser, you can give this a try.

Okay now back to Clarisonic Mia 2. After using it for three days, my skin started to feel really soft especially when I wash off the lather residue from my face - even facial scrub never leave this kind of feeling on my skin. I'm amazed by it and actually still speechless. If it weren't for my acne scars, I think my skin will definitely look flawless (not like I'm boasting or anything but that's the truth, or at least I think of it that way). How would I know that? Let's just say, the place where there's no acne scar looks pretty amazing. The pores are smaller and less visible. When those YouTube reviewers boast about able to see the differences before and after using their Clarisonic, I thought it was rather bull because I've tried so many different kinds of facial products/ treatments and none have ever live up to my expectation and I was on the edge of giving up hope. However, because of the high ratings on this product, not just on YouTube but other facial product forums/ websites, I thought to myself "you know what, there's no harm trying and what's $150 when I've spent thousands of ringgits on other facial treatments and products I've used in the past?" so here I am with my own Clarisonic Mia 2 and I'm seriously in love with it. It's only a week and I can see a tiny bit of improvement on my skin. I can't imagine what it would be like for those without acne scars using this product - probably wouldn't even need any makeup anymore because their skin will look so refreshing and just incredibly flawless.

Would I recommend this product?
Hell yes! It doesn't matter what your skin type is like, you should definitely invest in this. I'm using the brush head that comes with it, which is the sensitive brush head. There are tons of other types of brush head that suits your skin type from normal to sensitive to delicate to deep pore cleansing to acne cleansing. However, after watching a few reviews on YouTube, I would not ever use the deep pore cleansing head brush because there are just far too many people start to breakout terribly after changing to that brush head. I'm not saying you shouldn't try but I just wouldn't try at least not now. I probably just stick to sensitive brush head because I can really see the differences after using it and it has only been a week.

I've done all sort of facial treatment to heal my skin but trust me nothing ever leaves my skin feeling so clean and soft like Clarisonic does. Now, I just have to find that one perfect acne scar removal treatment to lighten up or clear my acne scars. If you have used any lotions or moisturizer or treatment that have help heal your acne scars, do share with me in the comment below because I do really want to try and find one that helps me with my scarring. Currently I'm using Mario Badescu acne treatment line, which I'm yet to see any differences despite using it for almost a year now.
