A Kickstarter Campaign: PAPABEHR
If you know me, you'd know that I love Mimobot. For those of you that don't know what a Mimobot is, it is the coolest company in the whole wide world that sells the cutest USB thumb drive (ranging from 8GB to 64GB). Just so you know, the pictures that I used on my header is from Mimobot Einstein collection. If I have all the extra money in the world, I'll probably buy their whole collection. Unfortunately, I don't so I only have two, namely Einstein and Bane from Batman. I'm hoping to get their George Washington sometime soon before it runs out.
For all you curious mind that has never seen a Mimobot before, you can visit their website and look at their entire collection including their retired bots. Currently they're having sales too, so if you want to snag one or more of your favorite bots, now is the best time to do so.
My first ever bot was Einstein. I just had to get this design but I kind of regret that I didn't get the other two designs especially the one with him using a headphone. If you want this design, they're still selling it but not the other two designs. I love this design mainly because of the change of his facial expression. If not for the change in facial expression, I probably would have bought the one with him using the headphone.
Then months later, they released the Batman Dark Knight Rises collection. Once again, I love them all but I wish they did sell Bane, which was a San Diego Comic Con 2012 exclusive and they only made 500 of it. Thankfully, my wish came through. They had a limited number left and wasn't sold in San Diego Comic Con 2012 so they released in on their website. I snag two of it. One for a friend and one for myself, which is now with my brother because he loves it and wanted it too. So I'm sort of letting him use temporarily or that's what I tell myself. Haha.
Recently they've just released their President of the United States collection, consist mainly of Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. They're making George Washington a limited edition with only 1,000 units! Hopefully, I'd be one out of the 1,000 units owner. Still counting my pocket money for next month, to see if I'd be able to snag one of this baby before it is sold out. The part I love most about this George Washington bot is the hat! I want this so badly. I refrain myself from using the word need because I don't need so many thumb drive but I want it because it's so dang cute. If that make any sense to you. Well, I'm pretty much blabbing right now. I'm sorry. I just can't help myself.
Anyways, back to my original topic PAPABEHR. When I saw this campaign on Kickstarter, I was like I want this but I didn't know whether I should get it or not but I do know for sure that I want it badly. I knew about this campaign just after three hours it went live on Kickstarter. I told my brother about it and that I wanted to pledge to support it but my brother stop me. He said I was just wasting money because I won't be using it and in no time I would misplace it. After less than 24 hours, the campaign was fully funded. I only pledge on it 2 hours before the campaign ended and I'm glad I did though I'm broke now till my next pocket money. =(
I pledged for the Heroic mode. Mainly because that's where you'll get all the added bonuses if they hit their stretched goal. At the end of their campaign, the funds funded managed to unlock two stretched goal. So I'll be getting a sticker pack, three units of 16GB USB figurine (namely, Papabehr figurine, Papabehr DIY figurine, and a Kickstarter limited edition destroyed Papabehr figurine), a neo-samurai armor + katana (they may make this into a 16GB USB too, if that's the case, I'll be getting four 16GB USB thumb drive) and a destroyed Papabehr tee for only US$120 including shipping. That's a bargain, if you ask me.
Below are a few pictures that I've taken from their Kickstarter campaign page.
This is the Papabehr figurine. Is he cute or what?! Totally rad, if you ask me. I can't wait to receive this around October - November 2013. Hopefully, before my birthday. =D
This is the limited edition destroyed Papabehr figurine. I love this more than I love the original Papabehr design. Ohh and those four things at the left and right sides are attachable/ detachable to the figurine. Cool right?! This is probably one of the coolest kick-ass design for a thumb drive. Definitely surpass Mimobot by a tiny bit.
For the t-shirt, they have two choices, one is the Papabehr logo and another is a picture of destroyed Papabehr. I'm so in love with the destroyed Papabehr design. I just love everything about the destroyed Papabehr, so I'm definitely picking this one as my choice to receive. Part of the reason why I pledged the Heroic mode too.
What was being unlocked throughout the campaign?

My favorite of them all. Destroyed Papabehr.
And this is the Neo-Samurai Armour Set + Katana. Initially this was a concept of an add-on. Like an attachable unit to the Papabehr/ destroyed Papabehr figurines but now they might change it and make it as its own. Here's their comment on the Neo-Samurai Armour Set + Katana:
This is the sketch for stretch goal #3, Keane.
If you want to have this cute little Papabehr, you could visit their website to place a pre-order and follow them on Facebook for competitions and updates on their journey of the production of the most kick-ass thumb drive. If you're interested, you could also read the story of Papabehr on their Kickstarter campaign page or on their website.
That's all for now.

UPDATE: We've been discussing the Neo-Samurai Head and we are leaning more towards just including another USB head with the Neo-Samurai Armour set. We thought about a detachable Samurai Kabuto (helmet) but it wouldn't be compatible with the "Destroyed PapaBehr" head. We want to try and make everything interchangeable and consistent if we can. So the Neo-Samurai Head will most likely be another 16GB USB!!The only thing that I was bummed about was the fact that stretched goal #3 was close to being unlocked. Another $3,441 was required to unlock it. Dang. So close, yet so far. =(
