Clarisonic Mia 2
I first heard of this product from one of the beauty gurus on YouTube and thought to myself I need one! My skin, if you don't already know is extremely sensitive and I get breakouts way too often that before a scar can heal, two more acne start popping up. I think I spent more money on facial products and facial treatment than my entire wardrobe combined. I'll try my best and every possible ways to heal my acne scars and prevent new acne from popping up way too often but to no avail. I find it weird because I'm the only one my family that's suffering from acne aside from being FAT too - it's almost like I'm the "black" sheep in my family.
Okay, back on track now. After first hearing of it, I started doing more research on it to help me decide if it's worth the splurge or not. I watched tonnes of YouTube videos, it's almost like every single beauty gurus on YouTube owns one - the very least a Mia 2. I was actually more tempted to get the Pro, however after studying all the range I stick to my guts and got the Mia 2. The difference between the Pro and Mia 2 is that with the Pro, it can be used as a body scrub too and it has 4 speeds whilst the Mia 2 has only 2 speeds and it can't be used as a body scrub. I know for sure that I won't use it as a body scrub, as a result, it's not worth forking out that extra amount (depending on how much you can find online and shipping charges) on a function that I would not ever use right?!
Now the second problem that I had was what colour should I get? That's not really a problem is it? Well, not really, slightly I guess? I have to use it and love it and white won't make do with it. With the Mia 2, you can get a whole range of colour selection which is interesting because with the Pro - you only get to pick between a white, grey or pink. Guess what colour did I get?! Burgundy of course! How can I select other colour when there's burgundy?! I, literally jump in excitement when I saw they have that colour. Madly, deeply in love with it.
The third problem - where can I find the cheapest and most reliable seller? One thing you should know is that you should never ever shop in Australia (in-stores or online). Why? It's like you're being ripped off. I'm f**king serious when I said that. If you don't already know, A$ is way stronger than US$ which means literally getting everything from US will be way cheaper than Australia but do keep in mind the shipping charges. Don't worry about import taxes as you'll only be charged if it cost (including shipping cost) more than A$1,000.
Don't believe me? A Clarisonic Mia (which only has one speed) retails for A$149 in the Australia stores, whereas if you get that same model from their US stores it only cost US$119. So only fools will shop in Australia without doing any comparison. If you search harder, I believe you can get the Mia for less than US$119.
Now the golden question is how much did I pay for my Mia 2 including shipping.... Drum roll please... A$140.90 which is cheaper than the Mia and has 2 speeds! If you get the white or the other dull colours you can get it for slightly lesser than that but like I said, I got to live with it for years so putting up that extra dollars will be worth it, seriously it will. LOL! Please don't judge me. I've saved more than I spent. =D
I just collected the Clarisonic from the post office on November 12, 2012 (Monday) because I missed the delivery man on November 5, 2012 (Monday) and couldn't be bothered to walk to the post office that whole week cause I was having my finals in between. How long did it takes to arrive to Australia? Exactly as the mentioned estimated delivery date by the seller. For example, if the seller states your estimated delivery date is November 6, 2012 - November 16, 2012, I'll definitely received it before or on November 6, 2012. Never later than that. That's one thing I love about living in Australia. In Malaysia, it seems like the package never did arrive at all and you'll start blaming the seller when in fact, it seriously have to do with the customs in Malaysia. Otherwise, how do you explain the fact that you'll have no problem at all in receiving any packages in Australia but not in Malaysia?! Something is wrong somewhere right?! Or other times, you'll have to pay an exorbitant amount for import taxes which is ridiculous as it can reach more than the price of the item itself. So don't bother shopping online in Malaysia because it's not worth it at all. If you don't believe me, you can try your luck. I have zero luck in shopping online in Malaysia.
I think I always get sidetrack from my original post, which was meant to be a Clarisonic Mia 2 post but now I think it's more of what makes me get it, where and how much did I get it for? But anyways, that's all for now. Look out for my weekly diary on Clarisonic Mia 2 and what's my thought on it. Today is my third day using it and I can tell you that I'm loving it as for now but three days is not enough to judge a product. I promise I'll do a weekly update on it.
