Shoot Me!
"Do you know now we have a national debt of RM500 billion? Do you know we might not even have the freedom to pick the colour we want to wear? Do you know now the foreign labourers rule in your homeland? Do you know one risks being robbed on the street every minute? Do you know your homeland is a dangerous place for pretty girls?
Do you know that in your homeland, the ‘mata’ can frame you for drug trafficking and ask for money? Do you know in your homeland, you cannot sell expensive ice cream to a policeman? Do you understand the message behind the dinner? Or do you think it has nothing to do with you since you live outside Malaysia?"
Above is the translated version of what was written in the article. I find it extremely funny and offensive at the same. I'm no BN supporter, nor am I opposition supporter. The most part of me just couldn't give a damn. Personally, I feel every Malaysian politicians are just as corrupted as they say the others are. Just that, they're not in the position to be as corrupted as the others are. Until either party can ensure me 101% transparency in running the country, I just can't give a damn. But that doesn't stop me from giving my $0.02 when I read something extremely stupid like this by either parties' supporters. I just can't help myself but to comment on it...
1. "...homeland is a dangerous place for pretty girls?" Are you insinuating that the ugly ones don't get rape, murder or rope?! Come on. Are you serious now?! What's your definition of pretty, by the way? A person that just came out from a Korean plastic surgeon's clinic? This is a very subjective and sensitive matter. It makes girls feel insecure about themselves and hell, they're already as insecure as they can be.
2. "...know now the foreign labourers rule in your homeland?" Funny. *sarcasm* Because you Malaysians are just too lazy. You want a job with high pay and less workload like how investors want high returns and low risk portfolios. Well, suck it up now. You just don't get to have the best of both worlds. You want high pay, work harder and climb the ladder of success. You want less workload, then don't expect a high paycheck. But since you refuse to work without a high paycheck and more workload, I guess the only way for the company to run is to employ labourers from neighbouring countries. They're not only cheap but efficient too.
3. "....pick the colour we wear?" This is just stupid. I remember back in high school, I wasn't allowed to use any other hair tie colour except for black and I don't know how much I've wasted in the constant purchase of black hair tie in school just so I don't get demerit points (which is extremely ridiculous even up till now. I never did get it. Isn't like it has anything to do with my education. It's just a bloody hair tie, not like I'm topless or bottomless). So do you really think the government would in any way impose such a ridiculous law? Banning all Malaysians from using yellow colour? That will make Malaysia the laughing stock of the world and twitter trending topic "#malaysiansbannedfromwearingyellow #LOL and tag Najib in it.". That would be some hilarious shit.
4. "...cannot sell expensive ice cream to a policemen." Funny. Dude you forget to mention the part where you have to pay "protection fees" to "ah longs" to run a business?! Pity all the businessmen/women in Malaysia. Not only do they have to pay taxes, they also have to pay protection fees and give discounts to police officers?! WTF? Luckily, DBKL and other government bodies didn't ask to be treated the same way huh?!
5. "...understand the message behind the dinner?" Seriously, it's her choice whether she wants to attend or not. And she as a citizen have her own rights to choose who she votes for. Just because you're an opposition supporter doesn't mean everyone else will have to be. Play nice now.
Okay. That's a long one. *pick up story book* Now that's much better. Off reading Twisted Perfection by Abbi Glines.
