Review: Mama Mia!
I was driving aimlessly on Sunday, didn't know where to go, or what to do. When I finally figured what I want to eat, I drove over but luck wasn't on my side. The shop was closed. I continued my drive until I stumbled upon this new gem.
Mama Mia!
It is situated at Jalan Tanjung Lobang. If you know how to get to the KFC Drive-Thru at Jalan Tanjung Lobang then you wouldn't have any problem looking for this place.
I love the atmosphere and interior design of the place. It is definitely on my list of places to chill and relax in Miri. Plus the waiter that served me was very attentive and friendly. One can hardly find those type of waiters anymore these days.
On to the food and drink...I had the Mocha Oreo Crush and Beer Braised Lamb Shank.
Butter with a side of bread was complimentary. It tasted alright, although I'd love to have some sugar with my bread and butter. The Mocha Oreo Crush was fine, I don't typically drink coffee...and I would have went with Chocolate but I wanted a change. It wasn't one of those strong coffee drink so I was able to finish it.
My friend thought I went crazy because I ordered this for lunch. It's not that bad of a portion for a person who didn't have breakfast, right? Probably not. Fine, I'll admit that I'm a fat pig... Now on to the meal, the carrot and broccoli were still tough, it needs to boil a little longer. The mashed potato was too watery? It was like I was eating my own puke. I'm sorry but I didn't like it. They might have blend it a little too long in the blender, or add a little bit too much milk? Hopefully they would improve their mashed potato because honestly nobody wants to be eating their own puke. The sauce on the other hand was bland. It needs a little bit more seasoning. With all that said though, they nailed the cooking of the lamb shank. The meat was cook right. Wasn't too overdone and wasn't too underdone. However because the sauce was bland and the mashed potato was too watery, I can't say I love the dish.
Would I return?
Definitely. I plan to go back again this Sunday to try their other dishes. I mean, one bad dish doesn't equates to a whole list of bad dish right? Plus, one could just go there to chill and drink only.
My ratings for their service: ★★★★☆
My ratings for their food: ★☆☆☆☆
