Review: Luxola
So I've been using Luxola since my return from Melbourne. It is my only alternative to buy Mario Badescu's products. If you're new to my blog, basically, Mario Badescu is my holy grail for facial products. Before I came across Mario Badescu, I have pimples all over my face and I just felt ugly. I'm not sure why I have acne-prone skin because both my siblings have flawless skin and my parents don't seem to have acne-prone skin (or either one of them could be lying, who knows?)
Before I return to Kuching, I've bought two bottles of facial cleanser, toner, moisturiser, and one bottle of those treatment products, such as Drying Lotion, which I only use when necessary. I didn't know about Luxola then, and I only knew that Sephora mainly carries Mario Badescu's acne line and they do not sell any sort of moisturiser from Mario Badescu.
So when my facial cleanser and toner start to run out, I panicked because there's no Sephora in Kuching then (there's one now at The Spring Mall) and the only city that has Sephora was Kuala Lumpur. So I started googling on where to buy Mario Badescu products that ships to Kuching and the first link it showed was Luxola. I was a little cautious at first and did a research on the company because one can never be too careful when it comes to purchasing things online. I would hate to buy a fake, especially when it comes to facial products because I have extremely sensitive skin. It breakouts easily and it takes ages for it to completely heal. So after a bunch of research, I dip one feet in and made my first purchase. I received my purchased in just two days and the rest was history - I'm now proud to say that I'm one happy loyal customer.

What I love about Luxola?
They nailed their website design. I love it and I love how easy it is to navigate around.
In addition, they carry quite a large variety of beauty products, which you can hardly find in Malaysia, from Mario Badescu to Sigma Beauty to Beauty Blender to ncLA and so forth. They also have Singapore's very own beauty brand DrGL by Dr. Georgia Lee.
However, what I love most about Luxola though is the offer that they often have. They often have a 25%-40% discount on certain brands, and Mario Badescu is one of it. Imagine the amount of money you could save, I know I've saved a lot since I started buying from them. They also offer free shipping if you purchase more than RM80 for Malaysia, A$55 for Australia, S$50 for Brunei, HK$350 for Hong Kong, and so on.
They're so much more cheaper than Sephora. If you buy at the right time, where they have promos (again very often), you'd be saving nearly half of what you would be paying at Sephora.
What brands have I purchased from Luxola?
Mainly Mario Badescu. However, I've also purchased Egyptian Magic, Sigma Beauty, and Beauty Blender. I'm not sure why but they no longer seem to be selling Egyptian Magic anymore, it has been out of stock for a year plus now. As for Sigma Beauty, boy oh boy, I was so happy with my purchase! I bought the Sigma Dry 'n Shape for just RM85, which is dirt cheap if you ask me. They rarely do have promos for Sigma Beauty though. It's kind of like a once in a blue moon thing. I bought the Beauty Blender for no apparent reason really because I've not come around using it yet.
Would I recommend Luxola to people?
Yes! Definitely. I can't think of anything bad about it. Their customer service is superb! There was this one incident where I've keyed in the promo code, however because of some glitch or what not, I paid the full amount instead of the after discount amount. So I emailed their customer service, and they were really helpful about it and offered me a refund for the discounted amount. So yes, I'd highly recommend their service to everyone. Besides that, for being their first time customer, you'd get a 15% discount for your first purchase. All you have to do is register here and start purchasing! And by being a LX Insider, you get to accumulate points as you purchase, which you can eventually redeem the points for Luxola gift card.

My ratings for Luxola: ★★★★★
was v happy shopping with the recommended Luxola online and earning points till just found out and totally amazed my points under Luxola LX insdier for my purchases and yet to redeem (accummulated for higher cash value), then suddenly with the announcement of Sephora taking over, I noticed my points bal is automatically deducted 250points x 8 times in return for uninterested 8 vouchers of 10% discount??? And without informing me or prior notice. Their reply when i queried is to join their new reward program after the merger. So where is the credibility and previous promise? at least inform loyal customers who supposed to get first hand information to utilize the points before the automatic transfer. how cld i trust them again to buy from the merged company Sephora or join their reward programs.
ReplyDeleteYes, same here! I totally agree with you. I had my points converted to 10% discount too, which in my opinion was a total shitty move. And there are no more good sales like they used have.
